When I was 12 years old, a simple poster in a Sarasota teacher supply store taught me what it means to stand up for what you believe in. It’s a message I’ve carried with me for the past 17 years — through career choices, spiritual practices, and how I show up in the world.
“Stand up for what you believe in, even if you’re standing alone.”
That phrase became more than just a poster, it became a guiding principle.
A Childhood Lesson in How to Stand Up for What You Believe In
At age 10, I moved in with a family friend who was a third-grade teacher. One day, we went to a local teacher craft store in Sarasota, Florida to shop for her classroom. As we checked out, a poster on the wall caught my eye:
“Stand up for what you believe in, even if you’re standing alone.”
I didn’t ask her to buy it. I didn’t need to, the message imprinted itself on my soul. I’ve never forgotten it.
Why I Still Choose to Stand Up for What I Believe In
Fast forward to adulthood, and that quote still shapes how I live. Whether I’m:
- Speaking up at work
- Helping someone in need
- Donating to causes I care about
- Or simply following my spiritual path
I try to stand up for what I believe in, even when it feels uncomfortable or lonely.
Living in alignment with your values doesn’t always look bold or dramatic, often, it’s quiet, consistent, and deeply personal.
Standing Up Spiritually: Integrity in Daily Practice
My way of standing up for my truth includes showing up for myself every single day.
That looks like:
- Meditation
- Prayer
- Listening to my intuition
- Staying in alignment with the spiritual work I offer others
Even when no one’s watching, I practice what I preach. That’s how I continue to stand up for what I believe in, not just outwardly, but inwardly too.
Ask yourself: Am I living what I teach? Am I honoring what I value when no one else sees?
Want to Know What You’re Here to Stand For?
If you’ve ever felt unsure of your path or values, your soul already has the answers. Through Akashic Record readings, we can ask your spirit team how you’re meant to show up — and how you can stand up for what you believe in with clarity and confidence.
Together, we can explore questions like:
- What is my soul calling me to speak up for?
- How can I live with more spiritual integrity?
- Where am I being invited to take aligned action?
Your guides want to support you in showing up fully and authentically.
